About

From sustainability to capturing raw moments

Many simply assume the effects of climate change are an issue of tomorrow or even non-existent. Yet, every year, we continue to face novel and dire consequences, whether it be habitat loss from rising sea levels or lethal storms driven by altered jet streams in the atmosphere. My studies at the University of Chicago stand at the intersection of climate science, environmental policy and law, market economics, and human landscapes. Utilising these different facets of the same question, how to reach sustainability, I aim to pursue a career as an environmental lawyer, bringing corporations into compliance with regulations to create a world for all. Outside the classroom, through analog and digital photography, I not only capture everyday life but also document the very physical reality we all live in: mapping the human geometry of manual labour, urban spaces, and changing geographies.

Academic Rigour & Systemic Analysis

My academic work bridges economic theory with environmental science, law, and policy, focusing on how systemic policies translate into physical outcomes. From analysing environmental factors influencing urban wellbeing to evaluating the carbon emissions of major European corporations against financial metrics such as ROA and ROE, I aim to create predictive models that demonstrate the real correlation between environmental responsibility and profitability through data acquisition, statistical analysis, and corporate strategy.

Fieldwork & Scale

Data is only valuable if it can be utilised in the real world. My background includes managing complex, cross-border environmental projects and corporate ESG research. From coordinating with local teams in Nepal to implement sustainable bricks capable of cutting carbon emissions by two-thirds to establishing and scaling a youth environmental NGO to 70 members across multiple international schools in three different countries, I focus on building the operational frameworks needed to take sustainability from ideation to reality.

Operational Grit & Discipline

Beyond research and creative curation, my values are defined by a deep respect for structure, discipline, and stamina under executional pressure. Serving as a sergeant, platoon radio telephone operator, and squad leader in the Republic of Korea Army, I honed foundational skills in operational focus, learning to apply them not only in my professional and academic pursuits but also in other facets of my life, such as fitness. I operate from the core belief that deep intellectual output requires absolute physical and operational grit.
